OOM(Out of the Mercy) Busan Ver.

Most works by this former Tokyo student of architecture and interior design could be described as caricatures of the environment that informs our modern lifestyles.
Adachi frequently adopts a motif of toys. Toys are designed with fun in mind, but this artist takes what were originally playthings of tabletop dimensions and renders them larger than life, even larger than human beings, this upsizing exposing the brutal nature of how toys move.
This latest work, O.O.M. Busan Ver.is adorned not with plants but seaweed etc. harvested from the sea near Busan. The oceans are, after all, the source of alllife, and probably the greatest gift to this planet by that mysterious "something." Reminiscent of a creature crawled out of the sea, yet writhing alone on the shore, cut off from the nurturing sea, it is nothing less than a caricature of us, the human race, who view "nature" as something separate from ourselves, despite our evolution from just such a primitive life form.
