The Role of a Lifetime


Dynamics of memory is what Narkevicius is looking for in his Energy Lithuania, His-story, Legend Coming True, and The Role of a Lifetime his submissions for this exhibition. All these works shed light on the lives of Lithuanians after independence from the old Soviet Union. The visual clarity of his work comes from a painting style that avoids any ornamentation, but to make the subject matter clear, the artist combines drawing and documentary. He has been filming socio-economic development and changing cultural identity during and after Soviet rule.
