Theatre

Theatre is a play in two parts.

It tells the story of a man and a woman. They are in a position of power symbolised by a sceptre and by their thrones. The couple have a relationship with the people who pass them by. At first the relationship is happy. Then when the passers by realise that the sceptre is really a leek they become aggressive and eventually remove the man and woman from their throne - position of power.

In the first part one group wear checked shirts and the other group white shirts. In the second part the narrative is the same but the shirts are reversed.

Subliminal flashes punctuate the narrative. These are images from Kosovo. The play was made after a research visit to Kosovo commissioned by the Imperial War Museum London.
