Sweet life (2002) [2′35″]


Cristian generates unique definition as well as the function to the banal public space by performance and installation. He is questioning originality and its imitation, routinzed exotic taste, and kitch consumerism by re-presenting a scene of Trevi water fountain from Fellini’s masterpiece ‘La Dolce Vita’ in a central Busan by some young Busaneses. The European caricatured romance revived in the opposite side of the globe 40 years later, can be read to be a cultural globalism or a worldwide phenomenon of cultural consumerism. Corresponding to the image of Busan as a city of cinema, it is more interesting.
