The First Overseas Press Conferences of the Busan Biennale 2014!

On June 10 and June 12!!

The first overseas press conferences of the Busan Biennale were held, one of which took place in Tokyo, Japan, on June 10 and another one in Beijng, China, on June 12.

 

The main topics of the conferences included an introduction of the Busan Biennale, an overview and detailed program descriptions of this year¡¯s exhibition, which will open on September 20, and an introduction of its artistic director. In Japan, 19 media outlets, including Asahi Shimbun and NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), attended the conference and 12, including Xinhua News Agency and China News Service, in China. The first overseas conferences of the Busan Biennale were able to generate heated interests among the media.

The press conference was held at the Park Hotel Tokyo in Japan on June 10!

Olivier Kaeppelin, artistic director, Dal-Sul Kwon, acting executive director, Sou-Hyeun Kim, curator of the main exhibition, Shinichi Hanada, co-curator of the Asian Curatorial exhibition, Masayuki Koorida, participating artist, and 19 Japanese media outlets were present at the site.










In China, the press conference was held at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing on June 12.

Olivier Kaeppelin, artistic director, Dal-Sul Kwon, acting executive director, Sou-Hyeun Kim, curator of the main exhibition, Liu Chunfeng, co-curator of the Asian Curatorial exhibition, Sui Jianguo, participating artist, and 12 Chinese media outlets were present at the site.





By hosting the overseas press conferences as the first step, more intensive promotion measures will launch to attract foreign visitors, which include the development of tourism products for foreign visitors and multilingual docent programs, along with the collaboration with the 5th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale. Keep your eyes on the Busan Biennale 2014 as it strides into the world. :*)

 

The Busan Biennale 2014 will be held from September 20 through November 22 at the Busan Museum of Art, the Busan Cultural Center and the KISWIRE Sooyoung Factory!!
