Popular International Forum
It is a strategic field and a place for dialogue disguised as a place of play, or vice versa. Like a chess game, the relationships between people or countries, require sophisticated techniques and strategies to advance and endure.

This intention is represented in the Sea Art Festival through this “installation”. Composed of black and white tables and chairs, it offers three layouts at different stages, each representing the different possibilities of dialogue in a developing script of intimacy and closeness.

Debate Layout is presented as a large table for discussion, between well-defined sides, both are looking for some dialogue, however poor or inconsistent. The large board is made up of 64 white and black square tables, with chairs positioned on only two of the sides, like two borders seeking relationship and intimacy.

Conference Layout also forms a large table, but simulating a more advanced stage of relationship where there is no need for spatial separation between "teams". Thus being closer the ideas can circulate and mingle more freely. A large table (or board) is the same as in Debate Layout, what will change is the amount and arrangement of the chairs, now distributed on four sides (alternating white and black), in this manner, suggesting a more direct dialogue and expanded topics.

Restaurant Layout is a proposal of a dialogue which advances in such a way that it allows for a large celebration. Its formation is less rigid, the 64 tables are removed and placed in a less official manner, now each table becomes an individual core, alternating white and black and so extending the idea of a strategic field for a longer time.

The International People's Forum aims to share with all the responsibility of proximity already evident in the very title. Forum meaning to come together, International meaning diversity and Popular meaning democracy.

The three phases of this work will be assembled (in the order described) at the Sea Art Festival 2013, sharing a third of the time for each piece.
