A Green Horizontal Line
Barley sprouts are grown in box-shaped frames. I set up an unexpected meeting between barley and the horizon that can be seen from anywhere on the beach. I plant barley in the structure and set it along the horizon, watching as it grew toward it, its height at last becoming level with the horizon. This is a chance meeting between the horizon that always remains horizontal and the vertically-growing barely. I make a foray into harmonizing the horizon that can be seen from far away with the line that is formed as barely grows. The horizon, barley and I are connected as one.
