¡®Going out of Samdidas¡¯ offers an image of slippers constructed of wood, steel and additional materials. The piece will be created on-site throughout the exhibition, making the process of artistic creation available to the public. Viewers will be privy to artistic activities and processes traditionally kept out of public view, thus destabilizing boundaries between studio and exhibition site, audience and artist; challenging the conventions and mystifications surrounding art making and the relationship between artists and art audiences.

The audience is invited to interact with the work, climb, sit or stand on it. The work, though constructed in an intentionally haphazard and anti-spectacular fashion, using simple materials, offers an experience akin to a nature reserve or lookout point, a site for contemplation and relaxation away from the bustle of everyday life. The scale of the work along with its representation of the sleeping figure seeks to create a physical and soothing experience for viewers rather than merely function as a monumental art object to be contemplated from afar.
