Sea Art Festival 2011, which is held as an independent exhibit for the first time, has the vision of drawing global attention by developing itself into an international maritime art festival. Thus, the artists came up with a work that can promote the festival as much as possible. 'Giantleap' interprets the characteristics of the festival venue by representing the location of Songdo Beach with latitude and longitude values. This work displays the name and location of Songdo with text, portrays the pine tree forest loved by Songdo residents and overlaps the image of Turtle Island on it.

This work emphasizes the characteristics of the venue and formatively portrays the image of a pine tree forest. Actively utilizing the exhibition space, it also has a fun element where the viewer can read Songdo once again in the island's representative images. 'Giantleap' not only contributes to the restoration of Songdo's old reputation but also serves as a symbolic emblem which helps establish the Sea Art Festival as an international festival of sea arts.
