KUDO Tetsumi
Your Portrait 1967

Kudo Tetsumi was born in Osaka and grew up in Aomori Prefecture. He pursued grotesque and unique trends in painting and held the Yomiuri Independent Exhibition where he presented his initial works. In this regard, he was known as an anti-art artist who represented the trends of avant-garde art in the 1960s alongside Sinohara Ushio and Akasega Genpei. We must not overlook the fact that his works are totally different from the world¡¯s perception. In the work Your Portrait, the strange object pushing a stroller with a human brain instead of a child and the strong tone of the primary colors change the principles of an environment that has surrounded life with knowledge and technology after the 20th century and presents a fear of changing into something that is not human.
